[ He couldn't find any willow bark but a trip to a healer's shop provided him with little tablets said to dull pain, so it's those he returns in possession of as well as dinner for the night, fried chicken in a bucket for the house. The smells wafts in front of him when he enters, calling through. ]
Molly! I got two things to help with ... whatever you've done to yourself.
[ Molly puts the ice cube tray back in the colder cold box and then pulls his sleeve down over the still stinging skin. He had definitely not prepared for the new tattoos to feel like they had been immediately needled into his arm, rather than either just appearing or have him set up for sessions.
It's not much more than angry stinging, though, the skin whole and fine underneath.
He waits for Fjord to come in, looking utterly pleased with himself and excited. ]
[ Taking that moment to shrug off his coat, when he heads into the kitchen he gives Molly a curious look and sets the hot bucket down on the table, followed by the bottle of pills. ]
Food and tablets, both to lessen your pain. What have you gone and done?
[ He picks up the bottle with a confused look, but doesn't try to read the text - he trusts Fjord to have gotten him at least something that works. Weird side effects, maybe, but still working.
He just pops one out and takes it with a glass of water. ]
I may have spent a square on something quite selfish.
That's just a side effect, and it's not that bad. I just...
[ He pauses and then tries to figure out how to say this. ]
I wanted... something special for all of us. A celebration, you know? Something I could keep with me both to make me happy and... maybe help me remember if things... if things go bad.
[ If Lucien takes over. ]
So I filled my other arm with you and the Nein.
[ He pulls up his sleeve, showing the new thundercloud under the old sun-and-moon drapery, raining down a trailing swirl of bright blue water all over his arm, with floating dancing lights, lightning jumping between waves and little clusters of three blue forget-me-not flowers. A watercolor-like swirl is on the back of his hand, sun in a way to make it reminiscent of a lollipop, while crossbow bolts adorned each finger with an effect that made them look embroidered. ]
I just did not expect it to also feel like I got it all done in one sitting.
[ Fjord's eyes widen at the sight of the huge tattoo and he leaves his seat to walk over, barely stopping himself from touching it. He can see elements of all the Nein in there, recognising the symbols. ]
Damn, that thing is huge. It doesn't look raw, why does it hurt?
[ His attention keeps flicking back to the lollipop on Molly's hand, feeling a little weird about a constant reminder of her that makes his guilt return in a rush being on a hand that jacks him off but pushing that connection down because the whole motif on Molly's arm is beautiful. ]
[ Molly smiles as Fjord walks up to look at it, lifting his arm a bit to let the half-orc take a closer look. ]
You can touch if you're gentle, love.
[ He purrs, loosely coiling his tail around Fjord's thigh. ]
...and I'm not sure? It's like... almost a memory of pain? It's not agonizing, but aching. Like a few hours after the adrenaline goes down and you can feel how much you strained yourself in that battle.
[ He sits again on the table and carefully cradles the arm as he gets a good look from all angles, tracing his fingers over the designs. Holding Molly's hand, he leans down to give him a kiss. ]
I think it's lovely, you were very brave to trust them with something like this.
[ Molly just snorts at that and then smiles as Fjord turns the light on. It's a bluish-purple light rather than the normal glow, and when the half-orc shines it over Molly's arm the outlines and highlights all start to glow brightly. ]
See? It's even on my old tattoos, too!
[ He moves a little so the light shines on his face and the peacock feather there. ]
You'll match the girls' with their glowing tattoos now.
[ He waves the light over Molly's other tattoos, reminded of the caves that the Nein once went to and the rocks were luminous all on their own. A natural prettiness.
He sets the torch down and goes back to looking at the waves, trailing a finger over them as they spiral down. ]
They only seem to glow in that light, which is probably good for stealth mission reasons.
[ He chuckles slightly and then scoots a bit so he can lean on Fjord as his lover explores the swirl of water that covers almost the whole arm, creating a canvas for the other details to float in. ]
It's my favorite, too. Not only because blue look so good with my skin.
[ Molly leans his head carefully on Fjord's shoulder, smiling as he feels his horns just fitting. A sappier person would say they were made for each other. ]
It's better already. The ice helped and the little pill thing too. It all might go away in a few hours or a day, I don't think the Augur wants me to actually suffer.
[ He runs a finger over his own arm, tracing the water. ]
[ Cheek resting atop a horn, he runs his palm over Molly's arm between them in a way he hopes helps the tingling die down, squeezing his hand. It's been exhausting trying not to think about Jester too much after telling Vax about her, seeing an old crush's memoir on his boyfriend's hand is par for the course where Fjord's luck runs. Something aches inside and he just wants to eat dinner with their friends and go to sleep. ]
At least you haven't had to cut yourself here, not yet. Not after saving me at the beach, anyway.
[ The memory is a fond one now, making him snort as he nudges Molly. ]
[ He looks thoughtful at that, turning his arm to a scar that didn't get covered, just like his other silvery lines - and then nods. ]
It's honestly a little strange after all the fighting we've done to suddenly do none. I feel like I'm going to lose my edge, so we should spar one day.
[ He doesn't quite know just how strongly Fjord felt about Jester, only having seen her flirting awkwardly with him and the half-orc being oblivious or awkward back. The fact that they grew closer while he was gone didn't quite reach Molly yet. ]
[ Chicken was not going to help the cleric, after all.
...something felt a little off, but there's not enough to actually worry about it. Instead he smiles at his boyfriend and slides over to the chicken bucket to steal himself a piece. ]
[ He slings on his coat and heads out for a walk back into the city. For someone in search of the weird vegan food readily available all around, he takes longer than he needs to.
Mostly he get distracted by the cute bakery's window display. ]
[ Molly does steal one piece of chicken before he lounges in the kitchen, relaxing more as the weird little pill takes away the last remaining ache, leaving the arm just feeling a little overworked. He's expecting Fjord to come right back, but when it takes a while he gets a little concerned.
What was that vibe from earlier? Something was off, and it had something to do with his tattoos. Maybe it was too much to make him the centerpiece connecting everything else, but he had sounded honest about liking that.
Eugh. Emotions are such a mess.
Eventually he just sends a little message to Fjord. ]
[ Smiling at the apology for the typo, he makes a concentrated effort to be a better boyfriend and returns home with a box of beers and some salty peanut snacks, just for Molly's dessert. He resolves to stop overthinking the past and live in the present, calling out when he returns for a second time. ]

Well, I'm not sure I trusted them - and they did add some extra things I didn't ask for...
[ Reaching to rummage through his coat, he holds out flashlight. ]
Click the button on this and aim the light on my arm.
