[ Molly is loving this, leaning against his lover as they walk towards the next game. He can't really stop smiling, enjoying just hanging out like this. Most of the stuff in this place had to do with sex, and while Molly adores that, this is...
...this is real.
Moving over to the wheel seats, he inspects them and then mimics the person on the screen that was sitting on it. ]
I want one of these. Do you think the Augur could whip one up?
[ Throwing a leg over the seat, he uses his device to activate the machines for both of them (Fjord is paying for the date today, for everything, because that's what you do) and scrolls through the options for his vehicle. He picks out a big blue one that looks nothing like the tropical monstrosity upon which he's sat, then finds a fun looking racecourse. ]
[ He's not sure how long it would take for Fjord to fall off a real one, but he could figure out that bet with Beau.
It also doesn't really occur to Molly that they're paying for things, since he's so used to actual people to tip at fairs. (And laugh at non-carnies with.) Even so, just taking him to this place is quite possibly the most thoughtful thing he could think of, because it's so... them.
Mulling through the race choices, he finds a smaller white vehicle to pick, since smaller should be faster, right? ]
How hard can it be to control? It's right between my legs!
[ He gives a wink that is neither smooth or tries to be, distracted by the screen counting down a moment later. Three, two ... one!
Fjord leans side to side with the bike and revs the handlebars to their max, hooting as his pixellated proxy screeches around corners in sprays of grinding metal. His enthusiasm and attention to the screen pays off (18 dex!!) and even though his bike creaks with his weight he's able to stay on the tracks. ]
This is fucking awesome, we have to bring the others here to try this!
[ Molly snorts at that and then focuses on the screen. He jumps a bit in surprise as the bike rumbles under him, and then they're off! The tiefling is amazed at the speed - not even frightened horses run as fast as these things! He turns and wobbles and laughs and then leans way too far - slipping off the seat. (Thank you, nat 1.) ]
Whoa!
[ Still laughing, he picks himself off the floor before yelling at Fjord. ]
[ Hooting with laughter as Molly climbs up to cheer him on, Fjord tilts with every bend to win the game. He comes third which is not too shabby and punches the air as the screen erupts with a little celebration. ]
Yes! Yes! Suck it!
[ Molly better watch out otherwise he'll get dragged into a happy cuddle against the bike. ]
Mmm, I could go for something. [ He says, thoughtfully. ] It's a fair, right? It must have fair food!
[ At least in some way? Sticks of meat, caramel apples... in one village they had wonderfully crispy and sweet dough things that looked like a mess of snakes, he loved those. ]
Kind of like a fair, yeah. I wonder what people eat at the fancy version like this ... Let's ask.
[ Fjord asks one of the robots behind a ticket exchange where to buy food and is directed to a set of 80's vending machines full of junk food ... and a hot popcorn one. ]
Molly! Hey, do you want some of this? Salted, right?
[ Salted popcorn is probably the least sugary thing on offer, unless the tiefling takes the hot toffee option on top. ]
Must be. Ooo, get me that green one, yes, I've got that old eldritch thirst going on.
[ He pays for a hot salty popcorn and various chocolate snacks, rolls, and crisps. Whatever Molly wants, Fjord leans over to pay for with a tap from his device. ]
[ Molly snickers at that, trying to figure out how to work the machine before he manages to get two drinks out by paying with his thing as well. It makes him stop for a moment, and then turns to hand the green drink to Fjord - his own is a purple one, because of course. ]
Have you been paying for all these games we've played?
[ He asks, quirking a brow. It made a lot more sense, but rules in this place were weird and lots of things were free.
...it definitely doesn't stop him from getting anything that looks weird or funny from the food vending machines with Fjord, though. ]
[ He sing-songs, taking a seat on the bench and sliding over the almost fluorescent-green drink. Then he gets himself a handful of popcorn, tossing one in his mouth now and then. ]
I appreciate it, though. This is a lot of fun... different but similar enough at the same time.
[ Molly curiously looks over to the main booth, but he can't quite see what they have at this angle. ]
I remember when I thought a strawberry was a wonderful prize. That was a nice fair.
[ Said foot hooking around one of Molly's under the table, ankles resting together.
This is nice. It's one of the rare sunny days on the island and the food they are eating is insanely sweet (Fjord thinks his drink is some kind of potion as it fizzes up his nose), there's nothing to do but enjoy each other's company and go home together at the end of the day.
If only it was home-home. ]
A strawberry is a naff prize, you'll love what they have here. [ He turns in his seat a little to see him, snapping off a chocolate bar with a tusk to chomp while he talks. ] While we're on the subject, I promise that whatever prize you pick I'll go along with it. Whatever prize.
[ That comment earns Fjord another amused scoff, but Molly's more than happy to hook their ankles together (and his tail comes to join them) while they eat strange things from a machine. The drink he has is almost a little too sweet for him, but he keeps going - it has a grape vine on it, so it has to be weird wine.
Fjord's promise about the prizes makes him intensely curious, wondering if it was sexy things (most likely in a place like this) or exciting stuff. ]
[ Molly purrs at the little sweet peck, an then licks his own lips to get some more of that taste from the drink. It's just as weird as his and that's just wonderful. ]
A dangerous thing to say, love. I'll be gentle.
[ He leans a bit against Fjord, picking through their stuff to try a little bit of everything and deciding what he likes. Most of the sweet stuff is a little too much for him, but the sour gummies are probably the best things he's ever had. Of course the popped corn is delicious as well, and he does like one of the candy bars with nuts in them.
Eventually the tiefling just feels too full to move, dramatically flopping over Fjord. ]
It's so sweet, [ he's eaten too much chocolate and there's a smear of it on the corner of his mouth, ] I can't wait to have bread and butter for dinner.
[ Taking the opportunity to wrap an arm around Molly and lean a cheek on a horn, he enjoys being together at their sunny picnic table where the world has boiled down to just them. Once the remaining snacks are stuffed in a pocket for the rest of the Nein to scoff later and all the tickets are safely rolled up in another, he slaps Molly's thigh. ]
Stupid mage hands ... I can win at this, it's all about angles and timing.
[ (1, 16, 14,) He sucks at the game but seems to be getting better out of sheer stubbornness, picking up the plushies and boxes but always dropping them with the sway of the claw. ]
[ Molly laughs as Fjord keeps going, and cheers him on as he keeps lifting things and them slipping out again just before the dropoff square. It doesn't seem to deter him, though, so the tiefling takes a really good look at the offerings in the machine before them. ]
Hmmm... the bear with angel wings. Reminds me of Yasha.

Molly has no intention of resisting being dragged into a cuddle, and places a kiss to those green lips with a smile. ]
Well done! We should definitely show these to the others, I want to see how long it takes for Beau to break it.

Damn, I could go for a snack now. You want to grab something?

Oh, yes! That's the corn thing, it's great!
[ It could be filling, too. They'll need something to drink with it, though, so he checks those food machines curiously. One of them has drinks. ]
Wow, that bottle is greener than your Eldritch Blast. Are these even drinkable?

Yes, of course. I asked you on a date, remember.
[ With armfuls of snacks, he flashes Molly a smile and pecks him on the lips, then looks around for somewhere they can crash and pig out for lunch. ]

That's part of it? [ He hums, curious as they find a nice seat. ]
Careful, though. One might take advantage.

[ He finds some wooden benches with tables outside and heads over there, setting up their heart-attack picnic. ]

Alright, up! Weird claw games await!
no subject
Alright, lets see what that's all about!
[ The claw games are interesting and frustrating in one, and they definitely have to be what was rigged in this fair. Things just kept slipping out! ]
You know, I bet this is really easy for Nott or Caleb, with their magic hands.
