No, I just... this isn't home, you know?
[ He could just talk to Caleb about it, but nobody said the tiefling was very smart, especially not after a couple of glasses. ]
no subject
After a moment of swishing her drink around in her glass, like all the fancy people do, Lottie asks, ]
What would you call it then?
no subject
[ He shrugs a bit, and then drops the whole thing a little too quickly for a smile at Lottie and a quick once-over. Cute! ]
So what's your name? I don't think I've met you!
no subject
We might've crossed paths? You know, with how many parties we have.
[ She says, like she even socializes at these parties outside of trips to where the snacks are. ]
But - I'm Lottie Person, and it's super nice to meet you. Feel free to just call me Lottie!
no subject
Molly shrugs a bit at her point - they might have been in similar places, but that green would have drawn him in quickly. Maybe the other parties and such on the island had just been too big?
Either way, he's all smiles and a little tipsiness. ]
Mollymauk Tealeaf! Wonderful to meet you as well, and please call me Molly. All my friends do, and I'm sure we'll be friends.
no subject
Okay, Molly, what are we gonna do then?
[ You know, to cement the friendship (and, importantly, postpone the inevitable question of why she's here). ]
I just need to know if we're gonna play twenty questions or throw more rocks at your sign.
no subject
Molly's amused by her slight awkwardness, wondering if it's nerves or something else. Even so, Lottie seems like fun and he's more than happy to ignore it for now. If she was here to rob them, then at least all they had was already out of the tables and free to take. ]
I think the stone tossing wasn't getting me anywhere, top be honest. I'd be delighted to play 20 questions, though. It's been a while.
no subject
..Oh, alright! I'll go first.
[ There's a few curious moments where she looks around, taps her long nails against the rim of the glass as she thinks. Her eyes gloss over the furniture strewn about the garden, the open doorway to the kitchen and the people milling about. After a second, she finally turns back to Molly and says: ]
Okay, I got it. It's an.. [ Her lips pout, brows pinching because, what does she say again?? ] object. It's not alive, I mean.
no subject
Oooh, okay. Is it made of rock?
[ He's not a well-educated person, so 'mineral' gets to be 'rock'. ]
no subject
[ She puts a finger to her lip, about to turn to look at her chosen object of the day but realizes (belatedly) that'd be helping him. Lottie ends up just staring at some random tree, trying to recall the mental image of it in her mind. And then - ]
No! It's made of plastic.
no subject
[ Molly has no reference for plastics. Damn fantasy worlds! ]
Is it small?
no subject
Yes! It's small.
[ A pause. ]
I don't know if it looks like metal, though.. I guess I've never thought about it before? It's definitely shiny. And bendy, kinda.
no subject
[ Molly taps his lower lip, looking around a bit to see if he can figure out if she had inspiration from something. ]
Is it something we use every day?
no subject
[ Lottie jumps a little in her excitement, inadvertently shaking the cup in her hand. Luckily nothing splashes, but she does take a second to glance down and lookover for damage control before remembering - game, they're playing a game. And she needs to be inconspicuous - ]
Yeah! We use it all the time every day!
no subject
Are we using it right now?
no subject
...Do you know what it is?
no subject
Is that it?
no subject
[ This is said with all seriousness, because Lottie isn't a particularly creative person. ]
It was this or any of the other [ She says 'other' like there is more than one cup on the table with said jerky at any given time. ] cups here, by the way. I wanted to try something easy since, you know.. First round.
[ A pause. ]
...Was it easy? Or like regular easy?
no subject
[ Molly lies, smoothly. He's all for making people happy, after all. ]
I would never have gotten it if you didn't tell me what plastic was, honestly.
[ He glances around and smiles a bit, turning back to her and crossing his arms. ]
Alright, I have one.
no subject
...And then, approximately after ten seconds of silence, Lottie realizes she's actually supposed to say something (or, you know, ask a question preferably). She does a quick gloss around the yard and around the people, ]
Okay. Is it green?
no subject
Nope. Not green.
[ He could have gone with her hair, but that would have been far too easy. ]
no subject
Is it.. Alive?
no subject
[ He looks amused, watching her think and trying to follow along with her expressions to see if she can figure it out. ]
no subject
Is it round?
no subject
[ He's doing his best to not jingle his horns teasingly, because that would give it away. ]
