[ Molly draws his scimitars and spins them a little, loosening his wrists. It was going to be interesting to fight someone who apparently was a over a thousand years old but someone still a young human(??)
[ Here's to hoping that Chung Myung doesn't let him down. He wasn't lying when he said he was badly out of practice, but that tends to happen when you're stuck in the form of a firefly for all those years.
He draws his own sword out of its sheath, marveling at the fact that he hasn't had cause to do this for any other reason than to check on the blade since his arrival here. ]
I'm not so rusty with it that we have to limit it only to parries.
[ He... hopes, but he does manage to say it with more confidence than might actually be there. ]
[ Molly takes a curious look at the blade that's drawn and then smiles as Chung takes him up on some more rambunctious levels of sparring. That tail swishes a bit and he seems excited and ready to start whenever his opponent is. ]
[ There's nothing too unusual looking about the blade in Chung Myung's hand right now. It's a simple enough looking double bladed long sword, without a lot of fuss at the hilt. From the way he's holding it low, however, it might be clear that the sword is heavy.
Though he still lifts it higher with relative ease as he gets into a more defensive position. ]
[ Smiling, Molly loosens up his stance a bit more and then takes his first double swing. His main hand comes down, followed up with his offhand in a spinning, whirling dervish way, eager to check how they match up. ]
[ It's strange to describe things as muscle memory when you haven't had muscles for so many years, but instincts seem to take over for Chung Myung in an instant. He raises his sword to block the first strike, stepping back and twisting his blade just enough to catch Molly's second sword as well.
He was always a very, very good swordsman back in his day, but he wasn't so sure that his skills would have stayed sharp. As it is, he does feel a little rusty, like he's not moving as fast as he should be able to, but he's at least quick enough to keep up with the initial attacks.
With a strong jerk of his arm, he pushes at the blades pressed against his own sword to try and force Molly back. ]
[ It's exciting to fight again, and sparring with someone new. The new opponent seems skilled even though he says he's rusty, and the sounds of blades meeting makes Molly's heart thunder in his ears with exhilaration.
As they move, he's forced back by the jerk and does his best to defend himself from any following blows. It's a little strange to fight without his magic, but he also remembers trading blows like this back in the Carnival when he learned (re-learned) how to fight. ]
[ It would be a little foolish to make a defensive maneuver and not follow it up, wouldn't it? A decision to do nothing but block sword strikes had been what caused his death all those years ago, though he doubts even if he failed to attack that Molly here was looking to kill him.
Still, there's a small rush for him as well to actually be back in his element, and Chung Myung lets out a bark of laughter as his blade is blocked in turn by Molly. ]
I guess I didn't forget too much after all.
[ The sentence comes out a little choppy as he keeps moving, broken up as the effort of the spar forces him to take pauses between words. ]
[ This was fun, almost relaxing in a way to get into this headspace. It mixed exercise with thinking, something he usually didn't care for. ]
Looks really nice to me!
[ Molly hollers back as he keeps his own form going, trying to look for weaknesses as he attempts to distract his opponent with the double blades... and then a swish of his tail for good measure. ]
[ It's certainly pretty distracting! Chung Myung isn't entirely unaccustomed to having to watch out for a dagger someone might pull out, though sword users from his time usually only had one blade in hand at a time. They were heavy things, and trying to duel wield wasn't an easily accomplished task.
The tail, however, is something he can safely say no one he fought before possessed, and after a series of pretty elegant blocks, it does have him stumbling backwards a little less gracefully. Still, he does manage to put some distance between them, and quickly regain some composure. ]
And here you just warned me about the two swords.
[ Refocusing now as he goes in for his own strike. ]

Weird. ]
Flat of the blade taps or parries only?
