[ Sat at the table in the captain's quarters where he pauses inking one of his City maps, he looks up with a smile and offers Molly a hand in welcome. The tiefling gets a once-over, critical of how hurt he really is. ]
[ He heals him with the kiss, casting just as their lips touch so the warmth spreads through Molly like a warm rush of wind, and uses a 5th level because Molly gets the best on default for 25 points of healing. As Fjord leans back he tilts his head quizzically. ]
I pluck the seven poor hairs I manage to grow, love.
[ Molly purrs at the feeling of the healing kiss, the warmth spreading like curl of happiness flowing through his body.
He looks giddy (and a tad apprehensive) as he reaches for the half-orc's hand with his right one and laces their fingers. Right there on his ringfinger is a band of beautifully tattooed seaweed. A promise. ]
[ Snorting at the (rather accurate) joke, surprise registers the new tattoo on Molly's finger, one that he's never seen before. It clicks why it's there when Molly says I won't forget and Fjord's eyes widen further, expression melting into a smile that permeates the crow's-feet corner his eyes and keeps him staring, bringing Molly's hand in his closer to inspect the design. It's a ring of plants ... seaweed? Oh, seaweed. It's a ring for me.
He breathes out his name, ] Molly.
[ Fjord unlaces their fingers to look at it all the way around, delighted in his astonishment. It had been so hard to be forgotten, to lose all they had built, and while it was horrid to deal with it was never worse than what Molly underwent as the direct victim of amnesia and Fjord never wanted to compare their struggles. It feels like he hasn't needed to, looking at the tattoo, because Molly already saw through him and knew.
He has to blink away damp tears as he reels Molly into a hug and rests his cheek on a lavender forehead, one arm around Molly's back as he holds onto his hand between them. ]
[ He lets Fjord look over his finger, smiling as he's shown the tiny delicate leaves and round bubbly things that apparently makes seaweed float. It's a perfect ring, in Molly's opinion.
The way it makes his half-orc react is even better, and he melts into that hug, stroking his other hand over a bearded cheek and then turning a bit to kiss those tears away. he never, ever wants to forget again. Not himself, and not Fjord. He doesn't know what the future will bring, if all their happy plans for a life together will come true, but he wants to know who he loves. ]
[ Fjord spends longer than he usually would on hugging Molly, soaking up the moment so he feels warm all through by the sentiment of the would-be wedding ring. ]
I'm yours, too.
[ He has to lean free at some point though and when he does he keeps hold of one of Molly's hands, wiping his own eyes dry with a smile in tow. ]
I have something for you, actually. Come here, sit down.
[ Over at the bed he sits on the edge, then roots around under the piled blankets at the edge for a brown envelope. This, he hands to Molly. ]
[ It's a stupidly warm and fluffy moment, and with the barely noticeable rock of the boat, it makes Molly's somewhat tattered hopes for the future bloom again.
When Fjord pulls away and mentions having something for him, the tiefling's tail starts swaying with curiosity. The brown envelope is a surprise, and he takes it. Something Fjord asked the Augur for? ]
I wanted you to have something from home to help remind you of it, and who you are.
[ The first thing pulled out is a leaflet for the Fletching and Moondrop circus, a bit dog-eared but still brightly coloured. Inside it is a smaller folded card containing a four-leaf clover, the one Yasha gave to Lucien after Molly gave it to her. ]
She let Lucien have that, to try and ... get through to him, I think.
[ He takes the leaflet out and his face brightens into a wide smile as he sees the printing on it. The beautifully drawn tent and the welcoming writing he knows by heart. It's a nostalgic feeling, like something from a childhood.
Molly strokes his fingers over the colorful accents, remembering spending hours helping Desmond putting paint on the leaflets to make them pop. ]
Oh, Fjord. This is so sweet... I can't believe you remembered these.
[ The second folded card is a surprise and he carefully opens it to see the clover inside. ]
Yeah, it was hers. Since she's not here and Lucien never deserved it, I thought you should have it back. Hold onto it until you get home, or ... something.
[ He rubs Molly's arm, settling beside him with a kiss to his temple. ]
[ It's so delicate now that it has dried between the pages of her book that he's afraid to break it. He puts it back in the card and carefully folds the card shut before putting it into one of the pockets in his coat. That way she would be with him. ]
It's perfect. Thank you, love.
[ He's smiling brightly, content to sit next to Fjord and pin the flyers to the wall above the maps so they were on display. Maps and carnivals. Him and Fjord. ]
You know, I should go back to see Gustav. We have a lot of money now, don't we?
Just get him out of jail... thank him for everything. He's the closest thing to a parental figure I've had, even if it was mostly love and less reverence.
[ He shrugs. ]
I'm sure he hates being stuck in one place, just like me.
[ His gaze slides away as he thinks, tipping his head in thought. ]
After we save you and the world? Sure. [ No biggie there. ] I'd like to return to Port Damali and see what can be done about the orphanage, the workshops were shady. Taking down the asylum they made me work in ... that can only be good for the kids left there.
[ No biggie at all, just another day for the Mighty Nein!
He nods at Fjord's mention of the orphanage and remembers how important it was for him to help the kids in Hupperdook. ]
Definitely. Kids already having a hard time shouldn't be getting more shit on top of that. Some change in management and funding could help... it doesn't sound like a place that should be run for profit.
I was thinking about that. Buying up a couple of houses with a sea-view and relocating the kids before we take care of the place. I could never see the ocean when I was there.
[ He pats the tail curled around his side and smiles, glancing out the balcony doors. ]
This is where I'm the most myself. After we've dealt with Driftwood Asylum, the seas will be all ours.
[ The idea catches him off-guard, never generally thinking so far ahead. He catches himself looking at Molly and tucks some of that wavy purple hair back, expression softening. ]
I can picture myself having children with you, yes. You'd be a wonderful father.

Then I bet he's far, far away by now. Starting up some other half-cocked business.

Me? I'd be a terrible father. I'm an irresponsible bastard of only three years, I'd make a mess of a kid.
[ Children, too. A bunch of green tieflings climbing the railing and falling overboard. (Responsibilities stopping him from new experiences.) ]
no subject
[ He silences Molly with a kiss, tugging a finger on a horn. ]
We don't have to, not ever if you don't want to. I just want to be with you, Molly, I don't need a family beyond us and our friends.
