[Jester's voice is high and squeaky, scrambling to follow the rest out through the door and away from the creature. She's halfway through the door when the creature claws out again. It gets her with the second claw attack, ripping through the back of her nightshirt and into her back (18, 21 dam). The nightshirt catches his claws and pulls her back with it, sending her scattering to the floor with a loud curse and knocking her prone. Incensed, Jester reaches behind her and casts one more third-level Guiding Bolt (17, 12 dam.).]
Wait for me, you guys!
[She really doesn't want to be alone with this thing!]
[ Caleb is the last one of their group to the door--or he would be, if Jester hadn't been attacked and sent sprawling. Her Guiding Bolt hits even from the ground, but the last thing he wants to do is leave her there prone. Rather than casting anything himself, he uses his action to grab her arm and help her up to her feet. ]
Come on, Jester!
[ He only has half movement tugging her along with him, but it's enough to get them both out the door, at least. ]
[ The sound of Fjord shouting through his bracelet was not how Shaun wanted to be woken up ever again. Even though he was no adventurer and his magic was severely stunted he still jumped out of bed, threw on his robe and went to answer the call.
Vax will kill him for this.
He follows the sounds of fighting and the flashes of magic to the Nein house and when he spots the... creature it has just shoved Jester to the ground. ]
Terribly rude of you! Let's teach you some manners. [ He twists his hand, a purple javaline of psychic energy appearing above the creature's head. It lances forward, driving straight into its mind [ failed save, 11 psychic damage. subtract 1d4 next saving throw. ] What is this thing?
[ Molly sees Jester going down and he screams, blood vessel at his neck bursting open as he spits out his curse to briefly blind the damn creature and make it miss the next attack towards her. ]
[ Caleb has her and Molly is retaliating on the heels of whatever spell Gilmore just cast (thank fuck people are waking up), although Fjord isn't sure how long they can keep this up when the monster isn't looking as rough as he would like. The monster peers over as if sensing Fjord's thoughts and in the heads of everyone within sixty-feet a word rattles in their head: Hooooome.
Then it swipes for the newest and nearest person on the scene with a claw attack from where it has spidered into a corner on the ceiling, (15 to hit, 14 pts damage).
Nope, no. Not hosting intelligent evil monsters tonight, no way! Fjord uses Misty Step again to get to the middle of the stairs, shaking the Bag of Holding to get its attention. ]
Hey! Hey, shithead! You want to go home? This way!
[ And he runs for the front door to make use of the remaining distance he can cover on foot. ]
[Helped up by Caleb, Jester bolts anxiously for the door, blood pounding in her ears. Vaguely, she becomes aware of Shaun's presence somewhere nearby, and then she hears Fjord's shout and decides to make a tactical move instead of going for instant gratification. She casts Spirit Guardians right in between their party and the creature, and the moment it enters that circle, her spectral hamstercorns are on the attack, rushing at the thing and causing 16 damage.]
