"i don't know," he admits, turning his eyes back to fjord's sword, running fingers over the runes. he can feel it in his hand, like it's... wow.

"it just... told me. vestiges are artifacts from the calamity. they're either crafted by the prime deities or by their followers. they lie dormant if they haven't been used in a while, but can grow with time. my cloak is a vestige." he smirks before laying the star razor next to fjord, then moves to lay back on the grass next to him.

"you should keep it, though. i'm a paladin of a different goddess, and i don't want her to be annoyed at me for playing with another goddess's toy."

"Oh. It's super old and was made by acolytes of the Moonweaver and Wildmother, it would be pretty cool if it was a vestige. Snazzy, like your cloak."

He sits up to touch the sword and mutters Galas'var, lighting up the runes and casting a blue glow for twenty feet in every direction. His fancy glowstick is dug into the ground so it can continue to illuminate the garden like the overpriced fairylight it is, and he lies back down next to Vax, hands folded on his middle.

"I've been playing with a whole other goddess," with a significant look at wherever Aphrodite is, "so I think if I'm okay, you are."

vax'ildan respects the way fjord handles his vestige. to vax, these things can be nothing but an unwanted bind, and while they might demand respect, it doesn't mean vax (or anyone) has to give it. so good for you, fjord! you do whatever you want with that vestige.

"looks good on you," he comments, smiling. he nudges fjord's shoulder with his own, "it's a vestige if i've ever seen one. snazzy is a good word for it."

vax's eyes follow fjord's to aphrodite, who is naturally charming whoever she's talking to. vax has sudden memories of their own love hotel experience, and he swallows thickly before he turns his head up to the half orc. time to come clean.

"you remember when we were married?"

A vestige. It sounds cool, even if he only has the barest idea of what it means. With his shoulder nudged, he looks over and smiles; the memory is a warm one. The first time he lost control and was safely guided through the more confusing parts of himself.

"How could I forget?"

[vaax]

vax smiles all the same, warm and comfortable with fjord by his side. though he's nervous about confessing to what he and aphrodite shared, the comfort that fjord brings is almost enough to balance it out.

"ah... i... shared the same dream with her. with aphrodite. i feel as though i should tell you, since the two of you are so close."

"Oh?" His brows rise and he glances over to Aphrodite, voicing his immediate thoughts. "Lucky you."

Aphrodite means a great deal to him and Vax is starting to as well, he trusts the latter with the former. As though working on a complicated math problem, he frowns.

"I had that dream with her too, does that mean ... we're all married?"

His head hurts.
