Not going well, is it?

[ Shaun sips his wine somewhat hiding his grin. He's watched the tiefling for awhile trying to change the magical sign. He's had terrible luck with it and is clearly no wizard or sorcerer but Shaun has to admire his persistence.

And the lovely shade of lavender his skin is. Shaun's never seen such a tiefling before. It's hard not to look and admire. Shaun loves purple. ]

Would you like a little help?

[ His last attempt was swatting the sign with a branch, but he's a bit too tipsy to manage that dex roll, and it wasn't like he could do anything against a spell, anyway. It just rubbed him the wrong way to have it say 'home' when this was as far from it as he could imagine.

The voice has Molly turning around, surprised to see that it's the guy Vax brought in. He seemed like and interesting fellow, so the tiefling tosses away his branch and gives Shaun a grin. ]

I always appreciate some help.

[ Occasionally, in the right mood, Shaun could be convinced to be a little naughty with his magic. He rolls his hand and sparks of magic drip off his fingers. ]

What do you want it to say?

[ He'll have to slip his magic alongside whatever spell this is, and there are a few it could be, to change it but really it shouldn't be hard. ]

Within reason, mind you. I don't want to be a complete bastard. Just a slight one.

Just... 'here'. Not home. This isn't home.

[ For all the luck in the world that he had when coming here instead of dying terribly, he hates the fact that his friends are getting stuck in this place. No matter how happy he is to see them. ]

You're another spellcaster, then?

Ah, very true.

[ Shaun extends his magic into the spell. An illusion. Not his forte but not unknown to him. Sorcerers were adept at changing magic. He closes his eyes slightly as he concentrates. ]

Yes, an enchanter. I make things for adventurers in Emon.

[ The word changes slowly but Shaun does manage the modification. ]

It won't last more than an hour but there you are.

[ Molly watches, always a little in awe by magic. There's some relief in his subconscious to see the sign change, even if only for a little while. ]

Thank you. I appreciate it.

[ Holding out his hand, the tiefling gives Shaun a grin and a wink. ]

Mollymauk Tealeaf, definitely a pleasure to meet you.

You’re very welcome.

[ Shaun takes Molly’s hand, brings it to his lips and presses a kiss against his knuckles then returns the wink. ]

Shaun Gilmore. The pleasure is all mine. I’ve never seen a tiefling your shade before and with such lovely trinkets. You are quite a sight in the best way.

[ Clearly, he’s fond of purple himself in his purple robes and all his gold jewelry that came with him. Shaun feels they could have so much to talk about. ]

[ Oh, he likes that, tail swishing in joy and smile never leaving is face. They're both showmen in their own way, and it's been a while since Molly could bullshit with someone. ]

I am a sight, aren't I? You do have impeccable taste in colors, my friend. I am definitely into what you're wearing.

[ What was that name? Magic tracksuit? ]

Emon, is that in Exandria?

[ Robe. Magic tracksuit. It flatters Shaun's softer form and has a very deep v-neck to show off his chest to the best display. ]

I enjoy looking good. Some of the clothes around here are not what I'm used to but I can see the appeal of them.

[ He nods at the question. ]

Tal'Dorei. I'm a friend of Vax'ildan's. For many years I supplied him and his friends with magical items and potions. Even fought a dragon with them once.

[ It is a very tempting chest to look at, and sometimes its good to have no iris - people cannot see exactly where you're looking. ]

You're definitely looking good~

[ What? He's Molly and he has to flirt a bit, this guy seemed like fun to banter with. he reminds Molly of himself, and that's a big compliment. ]

Oh, you're like Pumat Sol? With a magic shop? Are there more of you?

[ Pause. ]

...and a dragon? Really?

Thank you. Spent literal minutes on this eyeliner.

[ He waves his fingers because magic always allows for perfect cat's eyes and flawless eyeshadow. ]

No, no, there's only one Shaun Gilmore. Never accept anything but the best, darling.

[ He nods after sipping his wine. ]

Yes. One invaded Emon, where I happen to live. He destroyed my shop. When Vax asked for my help I said of course. I wanted revenge. He killed me and then I helped kill him.

Oh, I am jealous. It takes me some time to get that right.

[ His own eyes are framed in both black and gold eyeliner, so they're definitely style buddies.

The proclamation has Molly smiling, because yes, he loves that attitude - and the story of a dragon is a powerful thing to tell. Molly's tail swishes in excitement, and he gives Gilmore a wink. ]

Death couldn't keep you down, huh?

Before I perfected the spell I had to do it by hand. Your look is exceptional. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

[ Shaun preens a little. He’s very proud of that fight even though he did die. It told him he could be an adventurer if he wanted but he really had no desire for that. ]

I like to think I was too pretty to die that day. And I had good friends there to revive me. [ His eyes are drawn to Vax for a moment. ] I’ve found knowing the right people can be very helpful.

Mm. I'm glad I know some very right people.

[ He smiles, glancing over at where Fjord is, and then following with that sweeping look to Beau. ]

I'm lucky to have some of them here, even if I wish they didn't have to be trapped on this island.

[ Especially Cad, who seems to have no interest in sex, and Veth, who was apparently married(????) ]

You seem like you'd enjoy it here, though. A man that enjoys the finer things in life, I'm sure.

[ He catches Molly's gaze lingering on his friends, both of whom he had met. Both of whom had tried to interrogate him. Shaun found their concern for Vax touching but he hadn't given them much. ]

I might enjoy it more than most, I imagine. I don't have any qualms with casual sex. It can be quite fun with the right partners.

[ He stroked his fingers over his goatee for a moment as he smoothed out the braid. ]

But there are complications here that I don't enjoy. The occasional coercion of sex and aphrodisiac laced food, for example. That takes away a great deal of the fun that could be had.

We really are similar, then. Fondness for casual sex aside, I'm not fond of the drugs everything's laced with. I prefer to pick my own choice of that, not have it tricked or forced. At least I'm fairly okay, but some people might not.

[ Molly sighs a bit, rubbing his neck. It's a bit of a 'yikes' there, Augur! ]

Otherwise I can almost say I'm happy here. It's been good for me in some ways. I hope it will be the same for you.

No, I imagine some people here are not happy at all.

[ Which Shaun doesn't understand at all. The magic of this island is the least logical. But, he imagines with time he'll get used to it. Or perhaps understand it better. ]

I think it can be. I've already made a few very nice connections and well... there's always hope for the future, isn't there?

[ He can't help but glance towards Vax before fixing his attention on Molly. ]

Perhaps we should get to know each other better some time.

[ It still confuses the fuck out of Molly, but he's also no arcanist, and Shaun seemed like a smart one. Maybe together with the wizards in his group, they could all figure this shit out. Molly will be backup for fights, not the thinking.

At the look over at Vax, the tiefling's expression softens a bit. Ah, that was it? He tucks that away and then puts a hand on his hip, giving the human an inviting grin. ]

Oh, I'm counting on getting to know you better.

[ It's always been that. Shaun's heart doesn't let go easily.

But Shaun responds to the flirtation with a warm grin and wink of his own. He even daringly reaches out and strokes a finger down Molly's arm. ]

Fantastic. Once I've settled in we'll have a nice conversation together.

[ Molly's always happy to flirt, even if their heart might be hung up on someone else. (Maybe it would even help in getting what Shaun really wanted).

He smiles and lets that finger travel down the tattoos on his arm, drawing a small purr at the end. ]

I am looking forward to that already.
