[ Veth toasts Caleb back and leans against him. There's a definite rosiness to her cheeks that says she's quite a few drinks in as well. ]

I ammm ... hanging in there. It's weird. But it's a nice party! But it's weird.

You're right. It is weird. All of this-- [ A general gesture at the party around them. ] --is an attempt to make it less so. But it will only get stranger from here.

[ Caleb takes a long, deep drink as he considers the last several months; things he never would have done (people he never would have done, for one reason or another) at home that have become almost commonplace here by necessity. Considers how he is going to explain these developments to Veth. More importantly, he wonders-slash-worries about how she is going to navigate life here.

Mostly though, he's just selfishly glad to have her back. Three months was a long time to spend without her. ]

With time, I have started to become accustomed to it.

Yeah, that seems like the general trend of our lives. Other planes and kidnappings and gods ... just gets stranger and stranger the longer we go.

[ Caleb hums affirmatively. This was the first time he's had to navigate any of that without her, and it was as difficult as he'd expected it to be. But he's not going to burden her with that. She's here now, that's what matters. ]

You moved all of your things into our room?

[ Not that she'd have many things to move at this point. ]

[ A snort. ]

All three of 'em? Yeah, sure. I'm gonna need a new set of clothes sooner or later. Or at least nightclothes. Is it--?

[ She glances up at him as she starts the question, then stops abruptly, blinking. ]

Hm.

[ Whatever thought struck her prompts her to take another drink. Hmmm. It would be nice if things were just like the old days, but -- as much as she might like to act like they're two tramps on the run in Trostenwald, they're not, really, and that's just the facts. ]

[ Yeah. Hm. ]

I know that it will not fit well, but you are welcome to borrow one of my nightshirts for now.

[ He has like two sets of sleeping clothes here, and other regular clothes that are comfortable enough to sleep in, so she's welcome to try out whatever, even if it's not exactly ideal. ]

I have...one or two squares that I have not been rewarded for yet. I can ask for clothes for you. The Augur should be able to provide plenty that are to your taste.

Hey, too big is better than naked. I mean, it's not like I haven't slept in traveling clothes before.

[ As for the squares -- she wrinkles her nose and takes a long sip of her own drink. ]

If you've got something like that, I'd rather you save it up for, you know, spells or something. Like getting Fjord his stuff back. Or me, I mean, not gonna lie, I'm not exactly crazy about not having Feather Fall and all that. [ She shrugs and adds lightly, ] Who needs that many clothes on sex island, am I right?

[ There's a snort of laughter under his breath as Caleb arches a brow. ]

That is a very pragmatic way to look at it. But it does get cold here from time to time, so you may want a few options, at least.

[ He's not monitoring her alcohol consumption so much tonight, understanding that all of this is a lot to handle sober; he'd had a few drinks himself one of his first few nights on the island, the only way he'd felt up to discussing the items on his card. ]

From what I have heard, returning magic takes...a little more effort, usually. I am saving up. Rewards for just one square are smaller though, so it is no hinderance to ask for something that would make you more comfortable.

I have found I kinda like comfort, since you mention it.
