Hungry like the wolf~
● WHO: Eskel
wolfwithagoat + various
● WHAT: Eskel's catch-all log for the June event
● WHEN: June
● WHERE: His residence and various other parts of the island
● WARNINGS: Event-centric smut and violence against robots - will add anything particular as it comes up.
((Hit up my event planning thread and we can figure out a starter! For reference sake, Eskel's "house" is the remnants of a wee corner cafe with a covered patio. The latter has become a makeshift stable for Lil Bleater and Scorpion. Most of the patio fence is degraded; he's shored up its holes and weak points with large pieces of debris.))

handwaving!
While it's more difficult than cutting flesh, their swords hold up to the robots' metal casing. The larger problem is that they don't just die after a fatal wound like organic creatures, and for the most part need their heads or legs removed before they'll stop. But that's well within the witchers' repertoire, and an intense minute of blocking, slashing, and dodging ends with three bots minus heads, and missing several other appendages besides. Geralt straightens after the last one falls, catching his breath. ]
Almost feel bad carving these things up. [ He lowers his sword to his side again, though he doesn't yet move to sheath it. ] Wonder why they suddenly decided to attack?

Think it has something to do with the plants growing in all of a sudden. Last encounter, I heard one of them say, uh, "unauthorized contaminants" or something. It was setting flame to the plants before it noticed me and attacked. [That's the story of how he found out they've gone haywire.]
Whatever it is, we've taken care of these ones. What's say we head back to my shelter?

[ That sounds pretty bizarre, but Geralt has no idea how these things work. And he's experienced first-hand what the new plants are capable of.
Whatever the case, he gives Eskel a curt nod. He'll be glad to hide out together until these things either calm down or are subdued. ]
Lead the way.

[And so Eskel does lead. Finally, they're on their way out of this circus. His shelter isn't far, but it feels good to walk with his brother-in-arms again in the meantime. He looks forward to Geralt staying with him and getting to catch up. After all, with the threat of the Wild Hunt bearing down on them, there wasn't much time for casual conversation.]
[As they approach the end of the last street, they can hear the sound of Scorpion's hooves, and Lil Bleater...well, bleating. He'd say "almost there", but the animals have said it for him.] Lil Bleater will be glad to see you. Dunno about Scorpion, since our race -
[They turn the corner then, bringing his shelter into view. But what's there is enough to rock Eskel's normally solid composure, at least for a moment. The run-down remains of a cafe have been replaced with a simple, two-storey building. The lower level is an stable and pen that Scorpion and Bleater are clearly enjoying. Though they can't see the upper level, there's a balcony there that overlooks the pen.]
[Eskel stares at the building for a moment, then slowly turns to Geralt.]...it wasn't like this when I left.
